| Professor Chul-Ho Kim, MD, PhD is Professor of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Ajou University School of Medicine, Republic of Korea. He received his MD from Inha University College of Medicine, completed his residency training in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Inha University Hospital, and subsequently completed both his clinical fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery and his PhD training at Yonsei University College of Medicine (Severance Hospital). He completed additional clinical and research training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Tennessee. He currently serves as Director of the Quattro Precision Therapeutics Institute, Director of the Ajou Research Institute for Innovative Medicine, Director of the Head and Neck Cancer Center at Ajou University Medical Center. He is also President of the Korean Society for Head and Neck Oncology and Chairman of the Council of Korea's Research-Driven Hospitals. His research focuses on translational medicine for head and neck cancer, particularly the development of precision immunotherapies, including therapeutic antibodies and CAR-T cell therapies, as well as plasma medicine for cancer and inflammatory diseases. His laboratory integrates clinical data with cutting-edge technologies such as single-cell and spatial transcriptomics to identify novel therapeutic targets and advance precision oncology. To accelerate the clinical translation and commercialization of plasma medicine technologies, Professor Kim founded Plarit Inc., where he currently serves as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Under his leadership, the company is developing innovative plasma-based medical devices and therapeutics, bridging academic discoveries with clinical and industrial applications. | Dr. Patrick Ha is chief of the UCSF Division of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology. His expertise in patient care covers the full scope of head and neck surgery, with a focus on thyroid and parathyroid surgery as well as endoscopic approaches to throat cancer surgery. Dr Ha’s research is focused on molecular changes that occur in adenoid cystic carcinoma of the salivary gland, particularly looking at the function of novel gene fusions. Dr. Ha received his undergraduate degree in biology from Harvard University, graduating magna cum laude. He obtained his medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, graduating with membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. | Seiichi Yoshimoto, MD, graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1991 and completed his residency in otolaryngology at the same institution. In 1995, he joined the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at the Cancer Institute Hospital of the Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research (JFCR), and in 2001 he completed a clinical fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. Since 2008, he has been affiliated with the National Cancer Center Hospital in Tokyo, where he was appointed Vice Director in 2021. | Dr. Kyriakos Vamvakidis was born in Athens, Greece, in 1971. He studied medicine at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen–Nuremberg, Germany, and at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. After completing his training in General Surgery in Athens in 2005, he undertook a clinical fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at the University of Halle, Germany, under the supervision of Professor Henning Dralle. He subsequently worked for two years in the Section of Endocrine Surgery at the University Hospital of Halle and was awarded the title of Fellow of the Division of Endocrine Surgery (UEMS) in March 2009. He served as Director of the Department of Endocrine Surgery at Central Clinic of Athens and, since 2017, has been Director of the Department of Endocrine Surgery at Henry Dunant Hospital Center in Athens. Dr. Vamvakidis holds a Master’s degree in Medical Research Methodology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His academic interests focus on surgical education and training in endocrine surgery. He regularly organizes national and international seminars on intraoperative neuromonitoring in thyroid surgery and has spearheaded the development of virtual reality (VR) applications for endocrine surgery education and training under the auspices of the Hellenic Association of Endocrine Surgeons. | Dr. Miyauchi is President-Emeritus of Kuma Hospital in Kobe, Japan. He is an endocrine surgeon with a particular interest in thyroid and parathyroid disorders. | Professor Jin Hyoung Kang graduated from The Catholic University of Korea in 1984 and took internship and residency in Internal Medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital between 1984 and 1988. He earned his MS in 1988 and PhD in 1995 at The Catholic University Graduate School. He was a research fellow at Cornell University Medical College, majoring in research on cell adhesion molecules in tumor metastasis. He has been a faculty member of Internal Medicine, The Catholic University of Korea since 1993, and a Professor of Medical Oncology since 2004. In 2018, He earned master’s degree of EMBA Program in Korea Management Business School. He has published more than 300 articles in peer reviewed journals. His research focus is experimental therapeutics and early clinical development of novel target agents and immune-oncology drugs. He discovered a novel driver oncogene, KIF5B-RET in a Korean NSCLC patient in 2012 and is currently interested in autophagy and tumor microenvironment in cancer research. Professor Kang has been actively involved in clinical trials as principal investigator or co-investigator in over 200 clinical trials evaluating novel agents in other malignancies as well as lung cancer, head and neck cancer, esophageal cancer and melanoma. He is trying to establish precision oncology with application of deep learning technique to multi-omics data curated from cancer patients. Professor Kang has contributed to the evaluation of novel anti-cancer drugs and the bioequivalent test of generic drugs as an Executive Consultant of MFDS since 2002.He carried out the R&D Projects funded by KNCC (Korean National Cancer Center, Cancer Conquer Project) and NRF (National Research Foundation). He was the former president of Korean Head and Neck Cancer Association, Korean Cancer Study Group (KCSG), and Korean Association Lung Cancer (KALC). He has been a member of international scientific societies including ASCO, AACR, ESMO, and IASLC. Currently, he is a regular member of National Academy of Medicine of Korea. |
